Broadhurst has big weekend for Nebraska-Omaha Print E-mail

Former Stampede forward Terry Broadhurst had a huge weekend for the University of Nebraska-Omaha. On Friday, Broadhurst recorded a natural hat-trick in the Mavericks 5-5 tie with Ohio State.  All three goals for Broadhurst were scored on the powerplay. The Mavericks went on to win in a shootout, 3-2.

On Saturday, Broadhurst recorded a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win over the Buckeyes.  Broadhurst tallied the second goal of the game, again on the powerplay, and helped up setting the game winning goal at 8:38 of the third period.

Broadhurst has appeared in all 32 games this season for the Mavericks, registering 17 points (9g, 8a). He leads the team with three game-winning goals.

The Mavericks are coached by former Fargo Force head coach, Dean Blais and are now 14-12-6 on the season. The Mavs are an impressive 11-2-2 at home this season, but just 3-10-3 on the road. The Mavericks continue CCHA play this weekend when they host the University of Michigan. They complete CCHA league play a week later with a weekend trip to Miami-Ohio where they will face the first place RedHawks.

Broadhurst played in Sioux Falls from 2007 to 2009. Last season, Broadhurst led the team in scoring with 58 points (27g, 31a) in 60 games with the Herd.
