Stampede make roster moves

Herd acquire Perrault & two others

Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede made several roster moves on Tuesday. The Herd have acquired forward Mitch Perrault (PER-Row) from the Omaha Lancers in exchange for a sixth round draft choice in the 2017 USHL Phase II Draft. The Stampede sent forward Jason O’Neill to the Chicago Steel for future considerations, the rights to affiliate forward Zach Risteau (RIST-oh) and a 6th round draft pick in the 2017 USHL Phase II Draft. In addition, Sioux Falls traded forward Will Garin to the Bloomington Thunder for future considerations and acquired Khristian Acosta (Ah-COST-ah) from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).

Perrault has tallied 19 points (7g, 12a) in 38 games with the Lancers this season. In 97 career USHL games with the Lancers, Perrault has tallied 46 points. The Findlay, Ohio native stands at 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds and has already committed to play collegiate hockey at Harvard University.

Acosta skated in 34 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season registering 35 points (12g, 23a).  He spent last season skating with the New Jersey Hitmen where he posted 16 points (5g, 11a) in 25 games before tallying seven points in seven playoff games.  The 5-foot-9, 174-pound forward and New Jersey native has already committed to play collegiate hockey at Quinnipiac University.

Risteau, a Lakeville, Minnesota native, is currently skating with the Merritt Centennials of the BCHL where h has 45 points (23g, 22a) in 44 games. He skated in five games last season with the Chicago Steel and is expected to skate with the Stampede during the 2017-18 season.

O’Neill posted 27 points (16g, 11a) in 39 games this season with the Herd and will skate next season at Providence College. Garin was acquired from the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders in late October and tallied six points (4g, 2a) in 25 games with Sioux Falls.

Perrault and Acosta are expected to join the Stampede this week for practice and are expected to make their debuts this weekend when the Herd host the Chicago Steel on Saturday and Sioux City on Sunday at the PREMIER Center. Saturday is State Farm Insurance night with the first 500 fans receiving a free State Farm Insurance mug, puck drop is 7:05 PM. Sunday, the first 1,000 fans will receive a free Stampede license plate holder compliments of Schoenaman’s. Doors open at 3 PM with puck drop at 4:05 PM. Bring your skates and skate with your favorite Stampede players right after the game. Tickets for both games are available through the PREMIER Center or any Ticketmaster outlet.
