Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede announced Friday that they have received defenseman Corson Green from Chicago Steel.
Green was the player to be named later from a February 7 trade that sent forward Jason O’Neill to Chicago. The Herd also acquired Zach Risteau and a 6th round draft pick in that trade.
Green skated in 48 games during the regular season for Chicago, tallying 15 points on 5 goals and 15 assists while posting a +/- 5 rating. The Postdam, N.Y. native appeared in all 14 Clark Cup playoff games for the Steel, registering three assists, while leading Chicago to their first ever Clark Cup championship.
The 6-foot-1, 203-pound left-handed defenseman was listed as a C-rated skater by NHL Central Scouting for the 2017 NHL Draft. Green has already committed to play Division I college hockey at the University of New Hampshire for the 2018–19 season.
Green and the Stampede open 2017 Tryout Camp next Saturday, June 10 at the Scheels IcePlex. The camp runs over four days, ending the morning of June 13. The camp is free and open to the public the entire weekend and the Stampede Pro Shop will be open during select times during the camp.
