SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The Sioux Falls Stampede's 2017-18 regular season schedule was released today. The Herd opens the season on Friday, October 6, in Fargo at 7:05 p.m., and will return home to the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center the following night, hosting the Waterloo Black Hawks at 7:05 p.m. Sioux Falls will play 27 of its 30 home games on weekends, breaking down to 11 on Friday, 12 on Saturday, three on Sunday, and one on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

The 2017-18 schedule consists of 60 games from October to mid-April: 30 at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center and 30 road contests. The top six qualifying teams from each conference will qualify for the playoffs, which begins the following week with the top two teams from each conference receiving first round byes. Tuesday to Saturday home games will begin at 7:05 p.m. and Sunday games begin at 6:05 p.m.
The home opener will be the first specialty-night game of the season, as the first 1,000 fans will receive a Stampede replica jersey, compliments of Waterbury Heating & Cooling and Coleman Heating & Air Conditioning. Other notable games throughout the season include the annual Pink in the Rink Night, presented by Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital, on Saturday, November 4, a New Year's Eve contest, the famous 11th Annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic Wiener Dog Races in early February (game date TBA), and annual Take My Jersey night on Friday, April 13, against Fargo. All specialty-night games will be released at a later date.
The United States Hockey League (USHL) consists of 17 member clubs, with eight teams representing the Western Conference (Des Moines, Fargo, Lincoln, Omaha, Sioux City, Sioux Falls, Tri-City and Waterloo) and nine teams representing the Eastern Conference (Bloomington, Cedar Rapids, Chicago, Dubuque, Green Bay, Madison, Muskegon, Team USA and Youngstown).
Sioux Falls will play 42 games against Western Conference opponents, including nine games (five home, four road) against Fargo and eight games (four home, five road) against defending Anderson Cup and I-29 rival Sioux City. The team’s first home contest against the Musketeers will take place on Friday, November 10.
