Battle between two of the hottest teams in the USHL

TONIGHT’S GAME:   The Stampede close out their five-game homestand as they face the Omaha Lancers for the fourth and final time this season. The Herd are 1-1-1 against Omaha this season. The Lancers and Stampede enter tonight’s contest tied for second place in the Western Conference though the Lancers have three games in hand on the Herd.

STAMPEDE UPDATE: The Herd enter tonight 6-0-1 in their last seven games after topping Lincoln 4-2 last night at the PREMIER Center. Adam Dawe led the way with two goals while Paul DeNaples and Artem Ivanyuzhenkov added goals of their own in the victory. Mikhail Berdin stopped 25 shots in goal to improve to 16-6-2 with a 2.53 GAA and a .924 save percentage.

With the win, the Stampede have already surpassed last year’s entire win total (21) and improved to 11-6-5 on home ice this season. The Herd have earned at least one point in six of their last eight games at the PREMIER Center. A big key to the Stampede’s recent success has been balanced scoring, 11 players on the roster have tallied 19 or more points this season.

LANCERS UPDATE: The Omaha Lancers have been one of the hottest teams in the USHL along with the Stampede. The Lancers enter tonight having won three straight games and going 6-0-1 in their last seven games. Since starting the season 5-7-1, the Lancers have gone an impressive 20-3-2 to vault to the top of the Western Conference standings.

Fillip Suchy leads the Lancers in scoring with 40 points (20g, 20a) while Christian O’Neill has 33 points (11g, 22a). Suchy’s 40 points puts him at fifth overall amongst USHL scorers. Zach Driscoll ranks second amongst all USHL goaltenders, posting a 14-5-1 record, a 1.81 GAA and a .936 save percentage. He ranks second in the league in shutouts (5) and save percentage.
