On behalf of the Sioux Falls Stampede, the practices identified below represent the hockey club’s best efforts to proactively invest and keep the general public safe when attending a game at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center this season. The outlined steps and initiatives are intended to preserve the safety of staff, players, fans, and guests.

The Stampede are in frequent communication with the United States Hockey League (USHL), the city of Sioux Falls and team doctors. The team intends to abide by all federal, state and local COVID-19 guidelines. The club looks forward to welcoming back the greatest fans in hockey to the PREMIER Center soon.


  • The Stampede and Denny Sanford PREMIER Center will offer socially distanced seating in specific sections of the PREMIER Center, including Sections 121, 122 and 123.
  • Every fan that would like to sit in socially distanced seating will have access to them.
  • Socially distanced areas will have a capacity of no more than 30% and will allow zero-contact access to the seats through the use of pod seating.
  • Each pod will be at least 6 feet away in every direction from any other pod. 
  • Fans sitting in pods will have no other fans sitting directly in front or behind them.


Promotions and Activations

  • All fans accessing back of house areas will be required to wear a face covering and have their temperature screened.
  • All promotions and activations will follow CDC guidelines pertaining to physical distance.
  • Any fans participating in an on-ice promotion in between periods will be required to wear a face covering. Participants will also be socially distant as much as possible while on the ice.
  • Access to players, including autograph signings, will be extremely limited and based on CDC recommendations.


  • Fans are recommended to wear a face covering while in the concourse area.
  • Concourse will have at least 8 sanitation stations present for fans, with signage for identification.
  • Fans will be encouraged to be considerate of others and stay as socially distant from other fans not in their party as much as possible.
  • Concession stands will be cashless to avoid the transfer of monies between persons.
  • Floor stickers will be present at concession stand lines to promote social responsibility.


  • Fans are now required to wear a face coverings inside the building. Exceptions include while eating and drinking, when you can be six feet part from people outside your group and those with medical conditions. 
  • The Stampede will communicate with fans to inform them on ways to avoid long lines and situations where social distancing is not possible. 
  • Fans will be encouraged to use the South and West entrances to cut down on foot traffic in the KELOLAND Box Office Lobby.
  • Fans with socially distanced seating will be encouraged to arrive early to avoid congestion during peak entry times (6:45 - 7:05 p.m. on most nights). 
  • The PREMIER Center will continue to work under a clear bag policy as in the past. Guests may enter the building with a clear one (1) gallon zipper lock type bag. A clear stadium bag that is no larger than 12 in x 12 in x 6 in is an acceptable alternative to the zipper lock type bag. Tinted bags are not permitted. Clutch bags (4.5 in x 6.5 in or smaller) that have a single over the shoulder, or cross-body strap that are made of a canvas, nylon, or leather material are permitted. Chain straps are not allowed.
  • PREMIER Center staff and security will wear a face covering and gloves during bag checks and throughout the entire building during Stampede games.
