TONIGHT'S GAME: Stampede Falls Stampede host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders for the first time on home ice in the second matchup between the teams this season. The two teams squared off in Cedar Rapids on Jan. 25 where the Herd took an early 2-0 lead, but squandered it away and fell 4-3.

STAMPEDE UPDATE:  The Sioux Falls Stampede are coming off a 4-1 loss to the Fargo Force last night at the PREMIER Center. A back-and-forth battle for much of the first period, Ethan Frisch was able to put one past Alec Calvaruso to take the 1-0 lead heading into the first intermission. Herd forward Andre Lee danced around Ryan Bischel and evened up the score halfway through the second period. The score reamined tied for much of the third, but Fargo was able to beat the Herd with two goals and an empty net tally to finish 4-1 on the night.

The Herd enters tonight two points back from Waterloo for second place in the Western Conference with 75 points and six games remaining on the schedule. 

The Herd is led by Aretm Ivanyuzhenkov with 46 points (24g, 22a) in 53 games. Ivanyuzhenkov is two goals from making the top ten regular season in goals scored in Stampede history. He currently has 45 over two seasons. Defenseman Max Crozier, who scored against Cedar Rapids in their last meeting, leads the defensemen with 39 points (9g, 30a) and a -2 plus/minus. 

Defenseman Brandon Tabakin will be making his 100th career appearance in a Stampede uniform, including postseason play. 

ROUGHRIDERS UPDATE: The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders are coming off a commanding 6-3 victory over the Dubuque Fighting Saints at home. The RoughRiders got off to an early 3-1 lead after the first period. The Fighting Saints were able to cut the lead in half down 4-3 early in the third, but Cedar Rapids stormed back tallying two more to finish the game. 

The RoughRiders are currently in third in the Eastern Conference and on a five-game win streak, but are 13-13-1 away from home ice this season. The team is led by veteran forward Nathan Smith with 49 points (17g, 32a) over 53 games. Cedar Rapids is backed by goaltender Blake Pietila, ranking third in GAA the league at 2.31 and fourth in SV% with .913. Pietila is 27-11-4 on the season in 42 appearances.
