TONIGHT’S GAME:   The Stampede close out the regular season by hosting the Des Moines Buccaneers at the PREMIER Center. The Herd are 2-2-1 against the Bucs this season, including a 3-2 victory in Sioux Falls in their last meeting on January 5th. It all comes down to tonight’s game as the Herd enter tied for second place in the West with Waterloo. The Herd need a win and a loss of any kind by Waterloo at Dubuque to clinch second. The Herd could also clinch second place tonight by getting to overtime and a regulation loss by Waterloo.

TAKE MY JERSEY NIGHT: Tonight is Take My Jersey Night, presented by Waterbury Heating & Cooling and Coleman. Kids can take part in the Kids Zone with several different inflatables from 6-7:15 PM down on the bottom level next to the Hall of Fam Area. Fans can purchase raffle tickets during the game for a chance to win one of the Stampede’s game worn jerseys right off their backs. These are the black jerseys that are a throwback to the first season. Proceeds from the raffle benefit the Make-A-Wish-Foundation. Raffle tickets will be drawn during the first and second intermissions and winners will get to go on the ice and meet the players on the ice right after the game.

STAMPEDE UPDATE: The Stampede earned a hard fought 2-1 victory over Sioux City last night at the PREMIER Center. The Herd got first period goals from Cade Borchardt and Sam Stevens and held off the Muskies to earn the win. Jaxson Stauber stopped 17 of 18 shots in goal as the Herd improved to a franchise best 22-5-2 on home ice this season. The Herd enter tonight 6-3-1 in their last 10 games overall and are 13-2-1 in their last 16 home contests.

BUCS UPDATE:  The Bucs locked up the fourth seed and home ice advantage in the first round with a 4-3 shootout victory at Tri-City last night. Matt Brown and TJ Walsh scored in the shootout while Roman Durny stopped both shots he faced in the shootout and 29 shots during the game to earn the win in goal. Des Moines will host Fargo in a first-round best-of-three series beginning Monday night in Des Moines.

PLAYOFF UPDATE: Game #62 means a lot to the Stampede and several other teams across the USHL. As laid out above the Stampede need a win tonight and Dubuque to defeat the Black Hawks to earn the second seed and a first-round bye. The Black Hawks hold the tiebreaker should the two teams finish tied for second.

Over in the East, Chicago enters the final night one point ahead of Youngstown and Cedar Rapids for the second seed and a first-round bye. Chicago is at Muskegon while Youngstown hosts Team USA and Cedar Rapids is at Central Illinois. Chicago owns the tiebreaker on Youngstown and Cedar Rapids should they all tie for second. First round matchups in the East all begin on Monday.

UP NEXT:  Should the Herd end up as the #3 seed they will open the playoffs on Tuesday at the PREMIER Center in a best-of-three first-round series with Sioux City. Game 2 would be Wednesday and, if necessary, Game 3 would be on Thursday, all in Sioux Falls. If the Herd are able to grab the number two seed, they would host a Western Conference semi-final series on either Friday or Sunday of next week. Game schedule and ticket info will be announced after the game tonight and all the information will be posted at sfstampede.com.
