TONIGHT’S GAME:   The Stampede return home to face another I-29 rival in Fargo inside the PREMIER Center. The Stampede and Force will square off again next Thursday in Fargo and then see each other for the first time in the regular reason for a home-and-home weekend series, November 13th and 14th. These two teams will face each other ten times (5 home & 5 away) during the regular season.

STAMPEDE UPDATE: The Stampede opened pre-season play last night at home against the Sioux City Musketeers, falling 1-0 in overtime. The Stampede got strong goaltending from  Aaron Randazzo (Annapolis, MD) who stopped all 33 shots faced in regulation and finished the night with 35 saves. J.P. Turner led the way offensively for the Herd with four shots on goal. Sioux City tallied the only goal of the game at 3:58 of the extra session when Justin Hryckowian sent a perfect pass in front of the goal to Bennett Schimek who one-timed it home.

FARGO UPDATE: The Force make their preseason debut after hosting an intersquad scrimmage last Saturday in which Black defeated Blue by a score of 5-2. Five different players scored goals in the game. The Force have many decisions in their roster to make as well as they added seven players during the Cedar Rapids/Madison dispersal draft last month. They have four goaltenders in camp battling it out to make the final roster as well.

UP NEXT:  The Stampede will go on the road next week for a pair of exhibition games against I-29 rivals again. Next Thursday the Herd will travel up to Fargo before returning back down I-29 on Saturday to Sioux City for a rematch against the Musketeers. Game times are 7:05 PM and the games will be live on HockeyTV. The Herd return home for one final exhibition home game on Friday, October 30th when they host Sioux City at the PREMIER Center. The Herd’s regular season home opener is slated for Saturday, November 14th against Fargo. Tickets for the final pre-season and regular season home opener are on sale now through the KELOLAND Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
