In another classic wiener dog race, Letty, defended her title as champion at the 14th annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic Wiener Dog races on Saturday night. Letty, from Sioux Falls, won the race last season in their first time competing in the races.
A total of 30 dogs took to the ice in the first intermission with Letty, Bear, Kuzco and Lambo finishing in the top two of their heats to advance to the Final Four Wiener-Take-All event during the second intermission.
In the race, Letty got off to a quick start and never looked back while Lambo came in second and Kuzco coming in third. Fans were treated to an exciting three rounds of racing and fun night had by all as the Fighting Wiener Dogs rolled all over Omaha by a final score of 8-1. The Dogs are now 3-0-0 all-time and already looking forward to next season which will mark the special 15th annual Sioux Nation Pet Clinic Wiener Dog races!
The Wiener Dogs go back to being the Stampede this weekend as they travel to Fargo to face the Force for a weekend series, Friday and Saturday night. Sioux Falls enters the weekend having won three straight games and four points back of the fourth and final playoff spot in the West. The Herd return home March 12th and 13th for a weekend series with Des Moines at the PREMIER Center.
