Stampede hosting Hockey Week

Activities all week leading up to Hockey Day South Dakota

The Sioux Falls Stampede will be hosting the fifth anniversary of Hockey Day South Dakota on Saturday, January 15th and to celebrate are hosting Hockey Week now through Sunday, January 16th.  

The Herd will be heavily involved in the community throughout the week, volunteering at youth hockey practices around the area to celebrate hockey across the state. The club will also host two outdoor skating parties with players on Tuesday, January 11th and Sunday, January 16th. Some highlights of Hockey Week, include:

  • Stampede to wear Sioux Falls Flyers themed jerseys on Hockey Day (Saturday) when they host Omaha. Fans can purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win a jersey that will benefit the Sioux Falls Youth Hockey Association. Click here to purchase your tickets!
  • Player visits to Brookings and Brandon Valley
  • Skate outside with the Stampede on Tuesday, January 11th at Memorial Park from 6-7:30 PM
    • Four Stampede players will be skating with fans on the rinks at Memorial
    • Fans can get FREE skate rentals courtesy of the Stampede (please note that skate rentals are limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis)
  • National Hockey Mom Day on Friday, January 14th
    • Stampede will be honoring some Hockey Mom MVPs with a special ceremonial puck drop: Click here to nominate your Hockey Mom MVP
  • Hockey Day South Dakota on Saturday, January 15th
    • Four games at the PREMIER Center (tickets just $12 for all four games):
      • 10 AM: Sioux Falls Flyers Girls Varsity vs Omaha
      • 12 PM: Brandon Valley Boys JV vs Watertown
      • 2 PM: Yankton Boys Varsity vs Watertown
      • 6 PM: Stampede vs Omaha Lancers
  • Outdoor Skate with the Stampede on Sunday, January 16th from 1-3 PM at the following parks:
    • Memorial Park
    • Sherman Park
    • Tuthill Park
