Herd host Tri-City & Dubuque this weekend

Herd look to stay hot at home this weekend

The Sioux Falls Stampede (10-4-0) continue their five-game homestand this Friday and Saturday when they host Tri-City and Dubuque at the Sioux Falls Arena. 

The Stampede enter this weekend with an 8-1-0 record at home and 10-4-0 overall. They trail first place Lincoln and Waterloo by just two points. 

Tri-City is 5-7-1 on the season and in seventh place in the West while Dubuque has the best record in the league at 12-1-1. Tickets for both games are available through the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster location.


Sellout crowd watches Herd down Lincoln

A sellout crowd of 4,759 watched the Stampede down the first place Lincoln Stars, 5-2 on Saturday during “Pink in the Rink” on     Saturday at the arena. The entire Stampede organize would like to thank all the fans for their fantastic support in helping raise money for the Avera Cancer Institute. Money was raised through a special jersey and pink stick raffle as well as chuck-a-puck. The team will have a total amount of funds raised later in the week.

With the sellout crowd on Saturday, Sioux Falls maintained it’s attendance lead in the league. The Herd have the best attendance in the USHL, averaging 3,933 fans per-game through the first month and half of the season! Thank you for your support!

Inside Stampede Hockey broadcasts live from Buffalo Wild Wings tonight!

Inside Stampede Hockey will broadcast live from the West Avenue Buffalo Wild Wings next tonight (Monday) from 5-6 PM! It will be the second of six shows that will broadcast live from the West Avenue Wild Wings location.

It’s your chance to watch the show plus meet head coach Cary Eades along with players Zeb Knutson, Sam   Rothstein and Todd Skirving.

Fans can enjoy 2-for-1 burgers and all day happy hour specials while enjoying the show.

Stampede home for the Thanksgiving holiday

The Stampede close out their homestand next week with two games, the day before and the day after Thanksgiving! On Wednesday, November 21st Sioux Falls hosts Fargo and on Friday, November 23rd they host Sioux City. Game times are 7:05 PM. Tickets are available through the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster location.


Former goalies battle in Mankato

Former Stampede goaltending teammates Juho Olkinuora (Denver) and Stephon Williams (MSU-Mankato) faced-off against each other Saturday night in Mankato when Olkinuora’s Denver Pioneers taking down Williams’ Minnesota State-Mankato Mavericks, 3-2.  Olkinuora had 30 saves while Williams had 20. They both played on the 2010-11 squad that advanced to the Western Conference Finals. Daniel Doreumus, who also played on that team, scored in Saturday’s win. He tallied the game-winner on Friday, scoring on Williams in the third period.

Denver is in first in the WCHA with a 5-1-0 record (7-1-0 overall) while Mankato fell to 1-5-0 (3-5-2 overall).
