Becomes 12th player to commit to a Division I school

 

Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede are proud to announce that defenseman R.J. Majkozak has committed to the Air Force Academy. He becomes the 12th Stampede player this season to commit to a Division I program.

A native of White Bear Lake, Minn., Majkozak has tallied 3 points (1g, 2a) in 14 games with the Herd this season. He scored the game-wining goal in overtime over Fargo on October 13th and has registered 13 shots on goal this season.

Last season, Majkozak skated with White Bear Lake High School where he recorded 6 points (2g, 4a) in 25 games with the Bears.

The U.S. Air Force Academy is   located in Colorado Springs, CO with an enrollment of 4,000.   Former Stampede forward George Michalke is a junior this year at Air Force. They are coached by Frank Serratore and play in the Atlantic Hockey Association.

The Stampede (10-4-0) have won 10 of their last 12 games and are 8-1-0 at home this season. They return to action this weekend with two home games at the Sioux Falls Arena.  The Herd host Tri-City tonight (Friday) before entertaining Dubuque tomorrow (Saturday). 

Game times are 7:05 PM each night and tickets are available through the Sioux Falls Arena Box Office. Be amongst the first 1,000 fans through the doors on Saturday and receive a free Stampede medallion coin!
