Stampede spreading holiday cheer in the community this week

Sioux Falls, SD—The Sioux Falls Stampede will be spreading holiday cheer all throughout Sioux Falls this week. The team has   several community appearances scheduled during the week. Here is a look at what the players will be doing:

Tuesday: Visiting the pediatric unit at Avera Hospital from 10:30 AM to 12 PM. Players will be visiting children who can’t be home for the holidays and delivering stuffed animals. They will also spend time talking with the children and signing autographs.

Wednesday: Several players will be making their weekly visit to Holy Spirit Elementary School to assist in various classrooms.

From 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM, five players will be at the Good    Samaritan Society-Assisted Living Center. They will be visiting residents and giving them a few tips on how to improve their game with a floor hockey demonstration!

Thursday: Players will be visiting Volunteers of America from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. The Stampede will be reading to children, passing out stuffed animals and talking about goal getting and the importance of school.

At 4 PM, the Stampede will visit the Children’s Inn where they will spend time with children and deliver stuffed animals. The players will also sign autographs, talk about the importance of school and teach them about the game of hockey. 

The Stampede collected over 1,000 stuffed animals at their annual “Teddy Bear Toss” on December 1st.

The Herd return to action this weekend when they host Tri-City and Cedar Rapids, Friday and Saturday at the Sioux Falls Arena. On Saturday, the first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive a free Stampede Santa Hat! Plus, Santa Claus himself will be at the game and fans will have the opportunity to get a photo with him before he heads up to the North Pole!
