The Stampede clinched a playoff spot Wednesday night with a 2-1 victory over Tri-City to extended their win streak to five games. The Herd enter tonight's game with a nine point lead over Fargo for first place in the West and trail Dubuque by just one point in the race for the Anderson Cup with just eight games remaining. 
Sioux Falls holds a 4-2-0 mark against Lincoln on the season, including a 6-1 win in Sioux Falls on Febarury 16th. If the playoff started today, Lincoln would face Fargo while the Stampede would face Waterloo. The Stars currenlty four points behind Fargo for second place and home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. Lincoln will play three of their last eight games against arch rival Omaha and all eight games are against Western Conference opponents. 
The Stampede have won six straight games on the road entering tonight and are just three wins shy of tying a franchise record for most wins in a season, set back during the 2005-06 season. 
After tonight, Sioux Falls travels to Kearney, Neb. on Saturday to face Tri-City before returning home where they will play five of their last six games to close out the regular season.
