Sioux Falls, SD—The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced Monday afternoon that Mikhail Berdin (MEEK-ail BUR-din) has been named USHL Goaltender of the Week after posting two wins last weekend. Berdin stopped 62 of 65 shots and posted a 1.50 Goals-Against-Average (GAA) and a .954 save percentage in two victories.
On Friday, Berdin turned aside 20 of 22 shots to help guide the Stampede to a 7-2 victory over Sioux City. On Saturday, Berdin stopped 16 shots in the second period alone, and 42 of 43 shots on the night in a 5-1 victory over Chicago at the PREMIER Center.
The Ufa, Russia native is 19-8-1 with a 2.53 GAA and a .924 save percentage. His save percentage is fifth best amongst all USHL goaltenders. In 66 career games, Berdin is 33-20-9 with a 2.63 GAA and a .924 save percentage. He was a sixth round pick (157th overall) of the Winnipeg Jets during the 2016 NHL Draft.
