Stampede announce Fall Classic Dates & Opponents

Herd to face Central Illinois & Team USA in Pittsburgh

Sioux Falls, SD--The United States Hockey League (USHL) announced the official schedule for the 2018 USHL Fall Classic in Cranberry Township, PA (September 27-30) on Friday. For the first time ever, all 17 USHL member clubs will play their first two (2) regular season games at the Fall Classic to kick off the 62-game USHL regular season. All games will take place at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex.

The Herd open play on Thursday, September 27th at 7 PM (Central) when they face the Central Illinois Flying Aces. Sioux Falls will have Friday off before returning to the ice on Saturday, September 29th at 1 PM (Central) to host Team USA (U-18). The following weekend the Stampede will travel to Fargo for games on October 5th and 6th before returning to Sioux Falls for their home opener on Saturday, October 13th at 7:05 PM against the Force at the PREMEIR Center. 

The Stampede are hosting a special mid-summer doubleheader scrimmage against the Sioux City Musketeers tomorrow (Saturday) at the Scheel’s IcePlex. Game times are 5 and 7 PM and the scrimmages will feature the top 40 players from the Stampede and Musketeers who are vying for a spot on their respective September training camp rosters. Both scrimmages will be free and open to the public.

Saturday, September 29th: Team USA (U-18) @ Stampede 1 PM (UPMC Lemieux Sports)
