TONIGHT’S GAME: The Stampede travel to Fargo (1-1-0) for the first time during the regular season. These two teams will meet again tomorrow night in Fargo and eight more times this season, including the Herd home opener Oct. 13.

STAMPEDE UPDATE: The Stampede kicked off their 20th anniversary season last weekend at the 2018 Fall Classic. Sioux Falls defeated the Central Illinois Flying Aces 5-4 in overtime before losing 5-4 in a shootout to the talented U.S. 18-under development program. Andre Lee scored the game-tying goal with 1:05 left in the third period to send it to overtime and eventual shootout.

FARGO UPDATE: The Force opened the Fall Classic with a 4-3 overtime victory over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. Veteran forward Hank Crone slipped the puck past Cedar Rapid’s goaltender Blake Pietila to take their season opener. The following day Fargo fell behind 3-1 early to the Muskegon Lumberjacks but couldn’t overcome the deficit as they fell 4-3. Tyler Gratton scored three goals on the weekend for the Force and leads the team in scoring.

UP NEXT:  The Stampede will stay in town Friday night for game two of the back-to-back weekend in Fargo with a 7:05 p.m. puck drop. Fans can catch the game live on KELO News Talk 1320-AM, 105.1-FM, 107.9-FM and KELO.com. The Herd’s home opener is set for Saturday, October 13 at 7:05 p.m. against the Fargo Force.
