Stampede clash with Bucs tonight at PREMIER Center

TONIGHT’S GAME:   The Stampede face the Des Moines Buccaneers in the third of six meetings this season between the two teams. The Herd are 1-1-0 against the Bucs this season, including a 5-3 victory in Des Moines on Saturday night.

SATURDAY RECAP: The Stampede scored two power play goals in the third period en route to a 5-3 victory over the Bucs, stopping a two-game slide. Five different players scored goals for the Herd in the game while Jaxson Stauber stopped 20 of 23 shots in between the pipes. Leading 3-2 entering the third, the Stampede got a needed insurance goal on the power play at 10:42 of the period when Max Crozier blasted a shot into the back of the net. The Bucs would pull within a goal minutes later when Matt Brown scored, but the Herd went back on the power play and converted again, this time 4-on-3, when Austen Swankler one-timed a shot into the back of the net.

STAMPEDE UPDATE:  After playing six of their eight games during the month of November on the road, the Stampede return to home ice where they will play six of their next nine games. The Herd enter tonight with a 4-2-0 record at the PREMIER Center, but searching for their first home win since October 26th.

Artem Ivanyuzhenkov, Jami Krannila and Cade Borchardt all have 13 points for the Stampede.

BUCS UPDATE: The Bucs are looking to put an end to a three game losing streak tonight. They are led by Matt Brown who has a league high 17 goals this season and ranks fourth in total points with 28. Goaltender Roman Durny ranks sixth in the USHL with a 10-6-1 record, a 2.80 GAA and a .907 save percentage. The Bucs are 3-3-2 on the road this season.      

UP NEXT:  The Stampede travel to Sioux City on Saturday before returning home for three games in three days next weekend. Next Thursday, December 13th the Herd will host Dubuque at 7:05 PM before hosting Green Bay for a weekend series on December 14th and 15th. Puck drops are 7:05 PM each night as well.

Friday, December 15th is Ugly Sweater Night with The Salvation Army. Players will be wearing ugly sweater themed jerseys that will be available through a silent auction to benefit The Salvation Army. Santa Claus himself will be at the game as well! Tickets are available through the KELOLAND Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.   

COAT DRIVE: The Stampede are hosting a coat drive TONIGHT! Bring a new or gently used coat to the game and receive a certificate good for 2 tickets to your choice of December 13, 14 or 27th home game. All coats collected will be donated to local shelters in need for the holidays.
