Sioux Falls hosts Green Bay at home Tonight

TONIGHT’S GAME: The Stampede take on the Green Bay Gamblers in Sioux Falls for the first time since the 2016-17 season. It is the first of two meetings between the teams this season, with the second matchup coming tomorrow evening. Last season, the Gamblers swept the Stampede in two games at the Resch Center. 

STAMPEDE UPDATE: The Herd has collected points in four consecutive games after rallying from a 4-1 deficit entering the third period last night against the Dubuque Fighting Saints in a 5-4 victory. Defenseman Max Crozier tallied two goals and an assist in the contest, including the game-winning goal. Jami Krannila and Ethan Phillips tallied a goal and an assist, while newly acquired goaltender Alec Calvaruso stopped 10 of 10 shots faced in relief of Jaxson Stauber.

All five of the Stampede’s goals occurred on special teams: four power-play goals and one short-handed tally. The Stampede’s power play percentage went from 12th in the league at 16.7% prior to the game to 9th in the league at 20.2% entering tonight.

After winning just two games during the entire month of November the Stampede are 3-0-1 to start the month of December and are 95-54-11 all time during the month of December. Including tonight, the Stampede will play 9 of their next 11 games on home ice where they are 5-2-1 this season.

GAMBLERS UPDATE: The Green Bay Gamblers are coming off back-to-back road victories against the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders last Friday and a dominant 8-1 victory over the Madison Capitols on Saturday.  The Gamblers are 8-5-2 on away ice this season and sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference.

Green Bay is led by four different scorers tied for 14 points and three different players tied for 13 points. Paul Maust leads the team with nine goals. In goal, Evan Fear and Jake Begley have combined to go 10-10-2 with a 3.47 GAA and a .893 save percentage. After tomorrow night, the Gamblers will be off until December 27th when they host Dubuque.

UP NEXT:  The Stampede take on the Gamblers again tomorrow night at the PREMIER Center with puck drop at 7:05 p.m. Sioux Falls will be hosting Ugly Sweater Night with The Salvation Army. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free Stampede color-changing cup, compliments of The Salvation Army. Players will be wearing ugly sweater themed jerseys that will be available through a silent auction to benefit The Salvation Army on the main concourse.


Santa Claus himself will be at the game as well! He will be located in the main lobby from 6-7 PM for pictures with kids and families. Fans are also encouraged to participate in an ugly sweater contest and can sign up at the sales table outside section 103 to participate. Tickets are available through the KELOLAND Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
