TONIGHT’S GAME:   The Stampede square off against the Lincoln Stars for the third time this season. The Herd are 1-1-0 against the Stars with both games taking place in Lincoln. After tonight, these two teams will meet two more times this season with both of them taking place in Sioux Falls (Feb. 1 and Apr. 2).

STAMPEDE UPDATE:  The Stampede earned a 5-3 victory in Fargo on Saturday night in Fargo. Trailing 3-2 in the third period, the Herd tallied three unanswered goals to earn the victory. Five different players scored in the victory while Alec Calvaruso stopped 18 shots in between the pipes to improve to 5-1-0 on the season. Sioux Falls tallied two goals on the power play and have now scored four or more goals in eight of their last nine games.   

After earning just two wins all of November, the Stampede are 7-1-1 during the month of December. Tonight opens a five game homestand for the Herd who are home this weekend and next weekend. Sioux Falls will play eight of their next 12 games at the PREMIER Center where they have won four straight games and are    8-2-1 this season.

STARS UPDATE: The Stars are enter tonight in a bit of a skid. The Stars fell last weekend 3-1 at Tri-City and then 4-3 in Sioux City on Saturday and have lost six straight games entering tonight. Five of those six losses have been by two goals or less. Lincoln is led in scoring by Shane Pinto who has 25 points in 22 games while Josiah Slavin has 20 points in 24 games. In goal, Tyler Johnson has posted a 3.18 GAA and a .905 save percentage on the season. The Stars travel to Waterloo on Saturday before returning home next Friday and Saturday to host Des Moines.

UP NEXT:  The Stampede continue their homestand this Friday and Saturday when they welcome Waterloo and Des Moines into the PREMIER Center. Friday night is presented by Wheelco while Saturday is presented by the South Dakota Air National Guard.  Tickets for both games are available through the KELOLAND Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
