STAMPEDE UPDATE:  The Stampede earned a hard fought 6-4 win over Central Illinois last night at the PREMIER Center. Six different players scored goals while Austen Swankler led the way with a goal and an assist to lead the Stampede to victory. Swankler tallied the eventual game winner midway through the third period, marking the second straight game he recorded the winner for the Herd.

The win was the Herd’s fifth straight on home ice and 10th in their last 11 games inside the friendly confines of the PREMIER Center. The Stamped are now 15-3-2 since December 1st and enter tonight in third place tie with Des Moines with a 23-10-4 record.

Sioux Falls is led by forward Brian Chambers who has 31 points (13g, 18a) in 35 games while Artem Ivanyuzhenkov, Jami Krannila and Jared Westcott all have 29 points on the year. Ivanyuzhenkov leads the Stampede in goals with 17. In goal, Alec Calvaruso enters tonight with a 11-2-0 mark with a 2.61 GAA and a .889 save percentage.

STARS UPDATE: The Stars have started moving some players in preparation for next season, but it hasn’t affected their play on the ice. Lincoln is coming off a 2-1 victory on Wednesday night over the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. The Stars have won two straight games and are 2-0-1 in their last three after dropping six straight. Brock Bremer leads the team in scoring with 25 points (11g, 14a) while Samuel Hlavaj has taken over between the pipes, going 2-5-1 with a 3.49 GAA and a .882 save percentage.

Up until last weekend, the Stars had struggled mightily on the road, but they earned three of a possible four points in Green Bay and are 3-10-3 away from home this season.
